First topic message reminder :Waaah, so basically I liked the look of the Bonkura KT, and I saw the Philippine KT intro'd by Clyde. So, I decided to kinda mod something that looks like the Bonkura KT, the weight difference, I assume, is SOOOOOOOOO FAR from a real Bonkura KT (so, use 2 tips per side?
), PLUS! It's kinda extendable .... so here goes...
Stats
-------------------------------------------------
Name: Philippine Bonkura KT
COG = COP
Length: 22cm (normal) 26cm (extended)
Weight: more or less same as Philippine KT (no extra grips)
Style: Symmetrical
Writing-Mechanism: none
Ink-Type: none
Estimated-Cost: 247php estimate
-------------------------------------------------
Materials List:
Jumbo Pencil (body)
Pilot Color Eno grips (or simply SuperGrips with clear grips)
Gripmatic tips (x2 - x4 if you want heavier)
Pilot Techpoint (caps)
-------------------------------------------------
Tutorial (sorry I don't know how to use spoilers here...)
1. Prepare Materials
2. Preparation of cap. Take off the metal "clip" by pushing the clip upwards as shown. It will trigger the "cap of the cap" to unplug. After taking off the clip, replace the "cap of the cap". Do the same with the other cap.
3. Grips. Cut the front part of the grips as shown. (pic is blurry. I'm sure you'll get what I mean, though)
4. Body. Cut the pencil body at least 13 to 13.25 cm as shown ( as to achieve the "made in the Phil. effect LOL). Then, put in a few layers (1-3 at most) of tape on each end so that the cap will not fall off easily. (More of a trial and error.)
5. Assembly of the cap. Put the grip on reverse ( think the part with some kind of "lips" will be attached to the cap) and attach it to the cap. Make sure it at least covers the "hole" on the cap. Then put in the Gripmatic tip(s). IMO, 2 tips on each cap may be applicable, but do it AT YOUR OWN RISK.
6. Connect the finished parts.
7. There you have it!!! A Philippine Bonkura KT!!!
(<_<)
Additional Info:
1) What did I mean by extendable?
Well, since only the end parts of the body were "layered" with tape, this leaves parts of the body (to be inside the cap at normal length). So, you can kinda "pull" the caps to extend it. (the layers of tape will serve as a stopper from the cap falling off)
Basically you can have
Normal Length
Semi-Extended (one side is only extended)
Extended (both sides are extended)
though this is not advisable, as 22cm is already a good length to spin with, it is just a crazy idea of mine. :P
P.S. If the mod is not heavy, read the step 5 info.
P.P.S. I'm still gonna need an inktube that would fit and copy the "tipped" effect of the original one
I'm referring to this one (the tips)
Enjoy the mod!!!
